  • to assist teacher training and the work of the mediatrices
  • to provide technical advice, school supplies and the building of separate latrines for girls and boys

In Chile
The World Bank[4]
  • to increase overall support for gender-related issues
  • to help women to improve and increase their role in the economy

In Djibouti
United Nations Children’s Fund(UNICEF) [5]
  • to provide university access to primary education
  • to promote gender equality
  • to ensure the empowerment of women
  • to close the gender gap between boys and girls

In Guyana
The Guyana Gender Equality Project[6]
  • to empower women in participating in social, economic, and political activities
  • to reduce gender-based violence

In India
United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) [7]
  • to ensure women and children are able to access basic services ( clean water, health visitors and educational facilities)
  • to help families to understand what they must do to bring up their children

IDA-financed Elementary Education Project[8]
  • to help the government enroll out-of-school children into elementary school

India Women Welfare Foundation (IWWF)[9]
  • to promote gender equality in country:
1. defining common principles and standards
2. promoting the full participation of women in society.

In Japan
Gender Equality and Measures (GEM)[10]
  • to help women to participate actively in economic and political activities and take part in decision-making.
  • to help to raise women’s consciousness and capabilities
  • to enhance women’s position in government, management and women parliamentarians

In Nicaragua
United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) [11]
  • to benefit women’s involvement in politics
  • to increase educational opportunities for women who have translated into better prospects from both rural and urban areas


We concluded that the international organizations’ assistances help these countries to ease the problem of women’s education and the gender inequality as women’s education and status are improving gradually. However, these countries and International Organizations merely take time to solve all these problems.
